Crestron has recently announced the expansion of its DigitalMedia Content Distribution Platform that will include new DM Lite transmitters and receivers. The product line extends peripherals like speakers and cameras in all applications of all sizes so that it streamlines content sharing in BYOD environments. The product line offers simplified plug-and-display action that can be expanded for further functionality in larger or more complex applications. This new introduction brings connectivity, signal, and control solutions that can support common connections like USB-C and HDMI so that it is compatible with the Crestron DMPS Lite and DM Lite ecosystem.

The DM Lite transmitters and receivers offer BYOD sharing by removing the need for adapters, dongles, or converters. They also eliminate points of failure and poor signal integrity. The transmitters and receivers support peripheral extensions and maintain the clearest resolutions up to 4K40 4:4:4. DM Lite also supports enterprise-grade security protocols and the latest security standard in enterprise content protection known as HDCP 2.3. This protection is not found in adapters and dongles.

Since USB-C has become the latest connection point for personal devices, Crestron took note of the need to support this kind of connectivity and corrected its original 10-foot limitation. As a part of their updated DM Lite series, transmitters with USB-C connectivity allow users to display and convert content in crisp quality across up to a 230-foot distance. This means content can now be displayed in larger meeting rooms, auditoriums, and conference spaces.

The USB-C connectivity and transmission offer new functionality for the user, but that’s not all. The new DM Lite series also provides users with HDMI integration and device charging. No custom programming is needed for the new solutions, minimizing the complexity of the installation and allowing the user to use their solution right out of the box.

With so many hybrid workplaces, the demand for seamless and more versatile content sharing and distribution solutions that prioritize signal integrity and security over longer distances is higher than ever. The new DM Lite transmitters and receivers support enterprise-grade security standards, scalability, and control. Overall, they make content sharing and distribution easy for as many people and places as they can.
