June kicked off with the Teams app being released to the Microsoft Store. Additionally, a number of updates and new features were released too. This post will go into detail about these new updates and features, so keep reading to find out more!
Teams Performance Update
You can now adjust brightness and soft-focus video filters when your video quality is affected by poor lighting. The Soft focus effect also lets you apply a subtle smoothing effect to your camera. You can use these features before or during a meeting by navigating to the device settings.
Chat and Collaboration Updates
There is now additional language support for Suggested Replies for mobile. 19 new languages have been added for the Suggested Replies, and auto replies are turned on by default but can be turned off manually.
Organizers and participants can now choose their own status for a meeting. The Calendar Show As feature has options for free, busy, or OOF to reflect the status of each person attending a meeting. An organizer can also select private meeting functionalities to hide meeting details when their schedule is being shared.
Management Updates
An update for the Teams app usage report was done to give support to management teams using Live of business apps and Microsoft 365. Over time, this will help admins track app usage.
Admins can now see group policy assignments through the enhanced activity log. This advanced activity log includes more details that let admins see more information. New columns were added for group name, policy type, policy name, submitted by, and more were also added for a better understanding of an operation.
Overall
The new updates and features for Microsoft Teams that were covered in this post are only a fraction of the new releases. Teams has also had significant updates for education, frontline workers, and government use as well. To learn more about the other updates and features, visit Microsoft’s breakdown here.
