Microsoft recently held their annual Microsoft Inspire conference, and they detailed and previewed many upcoming features and products. One of the upcoming features for Teams is the Video Clip feature which was specifically designed to help users record, send and view short videos. Instead of sending out typed messages, users can now record themselves speaking.

Users can now preview the Video Clip feature in Teams which was pointed out by various users on LinkedIn. Since the start of the pandemic, many companies have switched to hybrid work. With the new Video Clip feature, it will now be easier and far more seamless because Teams users will be able to send short videos of up to a minute in length. Once the recipient receives the video, they are able to play it back whenever they’d like.

Teams originally had an option for sending out videos, but they could only be sent as files. This process was rather technical and took up more of a user’s time that could be spent doing more important things. With the new Video Clip feature, users can simply tap to record and send their video directly from the platform, making the feature far more efficient and effective. According to Microsoft’s roadmap for 2022, the new Video Clip feature is projected to be available for all desktop, mobile, and web users sometime in September.

Additionally, Microsoft recently announced that Teams has been officially optimized for Apple Silicon. This means that users with Apple M1 or Apple M2-powered Macs will now be able to receive better performance from the app because they are no longer relying on Apple’s Rosetta 2 emulation.
